摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform an operator of the approaching state of a surgical instrument to a dangerous region even if the operator can not visually recognize the relative position of the surgical instrument to the dangerous region with which the surgical instrument must not be brought into contact during surgery. <P>SOLUTION: The surgery supporting system 10 comprises a stereoscopic endoscope apparatus 14 for detecting positional data on the living tissue and the surgical instrument 12 during surgery, and an approaching state detection device 20 for informing the operator that the surgical instrument 12 approaches the dangerous region D inside the living tissue based on the positional data. The approaching state detection device 20 creates a model 46 of the living tissue based on the previously obtained image data of the living tissue, obtains positional data on a concealed region H which can not be detected by the arithmetic operation on the model 46 using the positional data of the living tissue detected by the stereoscopic endoscope apparatus 14, obtains the distance to the dangerous region D from the distal end of the surgical instrument 12 based on the obtained positional data and the detected positional data, and determines that the surgical instrument 12 is in the approaching state if the distance is a prescribed threshold or shorter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
