PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately detect a clogging state of waste within piping. SOLUTION: This method is used for detecting clogging of waste within the piping 50 in a waste treatment system including a dust feeding machine 28 for carrying waste, a decomposition furnace 10 for decomposing waste and the piping 50 for connecting a discharge port 28a of the dust feeding machine 28 with a carrying-in port 14a of the decomposition furnace 10 provided below the discharge port 28a and guiding waste from the dust feeding machine 28 to the decomposition furnace 10. A vibration sensor 60 is arranged on the outer surface of the piping 50, and by using the vibration sensor 60, vibration of the piping 50 when waste is being discharged from the dust feeding mechanism 28 to inside of the piping 50 is detected.
