<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyarylene sulfide with diminished impurity components and an oligoarylene sulfide consisting primarily of a cyclic oligoarylene sulfide. <P>SOLUTION: At least (a) a polyarylene sulfide, (b) a sulfidizing agent and (c) a dihalogenated aromatic compound are brought into a reaction in an organic polar solvent to prepare a reaction mixture comprising at least a polyarylene sulfide, an oligoarylene sulfide, an alkali metal halide and an organic polar solvent, and the reaction mixture is subjected to solid-liquid separation (B) in a temperature region in which the polyarylene sulfide does not dissolve and the oligoarylene sulfide is soluble, or the reaction mixture is subjected to solid-liquid separation (A) at a temperature sufficient to dissolve the polyarylene sulfide to obtain a filtrate component comprising the polyarylene sulfide, oligoarylene sulfide and organic polar solvent and the filtrate component is subjected to the solid-liquid separation (B). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
