A luminescent conversion LED emits primary radiation in the region of 370-430 nm of the optical spectral region (peak wavelength). The radiation is converted into longer wavelength visible radiation with the aid of a phosphor. Preferred Features: LED white radiation is emitted using three phosphors. An LED based on Ga(In, Al)N is used as the primary radiation source.
