PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an image such as a split image showing a focusing state upon imaging in the case of reproducing a recorded image after imaging. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 is provided with: first image generation means 104 and 111 for generating first image data 1300 based on a signal obtained by carrying out the photoelectric conversion of a first optical image formed by a light flux made incident from an object to an imaging optical system 101; a second image generation means for generating second image data 1320 and 1321 based on a signal obtained by carrying out the photoelectric conversion of two second optical images formed with a phase difference corresponding to the focal state of the imaging optical system by two divided light fluxes among light fluxes; and a recording means 120 for recording the first and second image data in a recording medium 121 for storage.
