<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-sensitivity oxygen sensor chip manufacturable even in a single-step coating process, a manufacturing method of the sensor chip, and an optical oxygen sensor for simply and accurately measuring the concentration of oxygen in a gaseous or liquid atmosphere by using the sensor chip. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This optical oxygen sensor chip equipped with a hydrolytic-polymeric film of silane alcoxide containing luminous coloring matter and a nickel complex on a base material, is manufactured. A silane alcoxide solution containing the coloring matter is hydrolyzed and polymerized, then preferably, the hydrolytic-polymeric liquid is condensed, further, a nickel complex is added thereto to acquire a coating liquid, and the base material is coated with the coating liquid thus acquired, thereby manufacturing the sensor chip. This optical oxygen sensor equipped with: a light source; a light-source light guide path made of glass fiber; the sensor chip provided on a specimen flow path, a light guide path made of glass fiber for light generated in the sensor chip; a light receiver; and an arithmetic means, is manufactured.
