#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining a lambda actual value (lambda-i2) from an exhaust gas (A) produced during a combustion, where a lambda expected value (lambda-e1) is determined according to a mixture of a defined amount of air (L1) with a base quantity (B1) of a fuel e.g. petrol. A lambda expected value (lambda-e2) is determined according to a mixture of the defined amount of the air with a base quantity (B2) of the fuel, where a fuel proportion (V) is determined with consideration of the lambda actual values and the lambda expected values. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for determination of a proportion between petrol and ethanol in a fuel mixture for combustion in an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle (all claimed). Can also be used for determining a proportion of diesel, methanol, propanol and isobutanol. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method utilizes the catalytic converter to determine the lambda actual value without additional sensor, thus reducing the cost and improving the fuels proportion determination process. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic representation of a combustion engine with a lambda probe, a mixture preparation mechanism and a controller. lambda-e1-lambda-e2 : Lambda expected values lambda-i1-lambda-i2 : Lambda actual values A : Exhaust gas B1-B2 : Base quantities L1 : Air V : Fuel proportion.
|
