PURPOSE: A storage system, a middle storage and a data management method for data protection using a file name are provided to protect data efficiently by determining the permission of access to an encoding region without an additional device or program. CONSTITUTION: A data management method comprises the steps of: calculating a hash value(222) for a file that is supposed to be moved to or created in an encoding region(220) of a storage system(200), wherein the calculation of the has value is based on the file names of the files; and determining the permission of access to the encoding region based on the hash value, wherein the encoding region includes a secret code file(221).
