PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide imaging device and an imaging method which can improve the user-friendliness of a tracking function by avoiding the occurrence of the flameout, occlusion or incorrect recognition of an object, thereby reducing a risk of a fail in photography. SOLUTION: A display information generating section 107 generates display information for calling attention so that a main object 300 under tracking is not missed or flameout does not occur, and a system control section 108 displays the display information thus generated in association with the main object 300 under tracking on a display screen 200.
