PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving mechanism for an optical element, the driving mechanism having simple constitution and preventing biting between a feed screw and a nut member and achieving appropriate feed operation of the optical element. SOLUTION: The driving mechanism for the optical element 15 which moves the optical element linearly in a predetermined direction, includes a motor 33, the feed screw 34 formed on an output shaft of the motor 33, the nut member 35 threadedly engaging the feed screw 34, and a regulating member 12y regulating a movable range of the nut member 35. The nut member 35 includes a screw-formed part 35b where a female screw to threadedly engage the feed screw 34 is formed, and an abutting part 35c which is formed on the outer side in a radial direction than the screw-formed part 35b, and abuts on the regulating member 12y. The regulating member 12y is arranged at a position where the nut member 35 is inclined to a direction orthogonal to the shaft direction of the feed screw 34 when the abutting part 35c abuts on the regulating member 12y.
