The device comprises a deformed bar (17), where a base body (21) of the deformed bar is made of a material. The base body of the bar is connected with another material in areas of high rigidity. The latter material has a lower rigidity than the rigidity of the former material. The latter material is connected with the former material as a layer (23) over the total width of the base body of the bar, where the layer thickness in the areas of high rigidity is greater when compared in the other areas. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a damping device.
