PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting apparatus for lane keeping, effectively preventing deviation from the traveling lane, while reducing sense of incongruity caused by deviation from a traveling line intended by a driver. SOLUTION: Right and left lateral displacement reference positions LXL, LXR that are positions individually offset to right and left in the width direction from a center in the traveling lane width direction where an own car travels are provided. Feedback control is performed to reduce lateral displacement deviation of the own car from the lateral displacement reference positions LXL, LXR close to the own car C when the own car goes outside the right and left lateral displacement reference positions LXL, LXR from the traveling lane center.
