PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin processor effectively reducing the power consumption of a vending machine in a standby state. SOLUTION: A coin processing circuit 1a of a coin mech is provided with a coin detection circuit 3 for detecting input of coins to a vending machine. A change detection circuit 4 detects a state of holding coins stored as change coins. A coin mech control part 2 controls on/off of power supply to the coin detection circuit 4 independently of power supply to the coin detection circuit 3, and when the input of coins is detected by the coin detection circuit 3, a power source is supplied to the change detection circuit 4. Therefore, a power source is supplied only to the coin detection circuit 3 in a standby state waiting for a customer who purchases merchandise while no coin is input to the vending machine, and power supply to other circuit block is started when coins are input to the vending machine in order to receive them.
