<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering an existing OF cable, especially an OF underwater cable by preventing an insulation oil inside the cable from being leaked to the outside thereof. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is the method for recovering an OF cable in which the OF cable is removed after injecting a solution containing an oil-gelling agent into an oil passage of the OF cable from one end side of the OF cable.
