The generator (24) has controllable interrupters (74, 76) with a controllable insulated gate bipolar transistors (80, 82) connected in series with diodes (78, 84) in a manner to form a unidirectional current interrupter which passes from a positive terminal to a negative terminal. A control unit (130) controls switching of the interrupters of an upper semi-branch and a lower semi-branch respectively from a passing state towards a non-passing state at an instant where an interrupter on opposite branch is in a passing state. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating a direct current high voltage using a direct current high voltage generator. |
