Provided is an input device which is easy to be used by an operator even if an inputting section on equipment is small, and also provided is an inputting means. The input device includes the inputting section (3) having a detecting section (2) which detects a force transferred via the human body when part of the human body in contact with the input device performs a tracing motion and outputs the detected force as detected data (a), a timer management and control means (6) which generates a timing in which the detected data (a) is converted to time series data and outputs the timing as timing data (c), an inputted information identifying means (5) which converts the detected data (a) into time series data based on the timing data (c) and compares the time series data with accumulated data (b) which is set up in advance and accumulated in a database (4) to identify the inputted motion and outputs the inputted motion as inputted information identification data (d), and an information presenting means (7) which displays a function assigned to the inputted motion after receiving the inputted information identification data (d).
