摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier which has further improved durability and suppresses peeling of a surface coating layer thereof. SOLUTION: The magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer is obtained by forming a surface coating layer comprising mainly a resin on a particle surface of a magnetic core material particle. In measurement of the charge amount of the magnetic carrier, the ratio of a measured value after 10 s of measurement to a measured value after 120 s (charge amount after 10 s)/(charge amount after 120 s) is ≥60%. In a method for manufacturing such a magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer by forming a surface coating layer on a particle surface of a magnetic core material particle, the surface coating layer is formed by sequentially using two or more types of apparatus.
