PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly agitate liquid in a storage part and properly detect the state of the liquid in the storage part with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A liquid storing device includes: (a) the storage part for storing the consumed liquid; (b) a rotating member provided in the storage part and rotating on a rotating axis; (c) a blade member which is attached to the rotating member to be movable in the axial direction of the rotating axis, has a specific gravity lower than the liquid, moves vertically downward from the level of the liquid along the axial direction in accordance with the rotation of the rotating member to agitate the liquid when the rotating member rotates in a first direction, and floats toward the level of the liquid by the buoyancy of the liquid when the rotation of the rotating member in the first direction is stopped; and (d) a detecting member which detects the blade member when the blade member is located at a detecting position in the vertical position.
