PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic wave device, duplexer, communication module and communication apparatus, which cannot only improve skirt characteristic of a ladder-type filter but can downsize filter elements. SOLUTION: The acoustic wave device includes the ladder-type filter in which a plurality of resonators are connected in a ladder configuration. In the acoustic wave device, a plurality of the series-connected resonators P2 and P4 are connected with a parallel line in the ladder-type filter, and the plurality of the resonators P2 and P4 connected with the parallel line have resonance frequencies different from each others.
