The method involves detecting environment data e.g. temperature, using a detection module (12) of an alarm system (1). The determination is made whether the environment data are sufficient for test standard. The environment data is outputted when the environment data is sufficient for the test standard. An alarm signal is produced when the environment data is not sufficient for the test standard, and the alarm signal is outputted. The alarm signal is transmitted by a remote over an Internet or General packet radio service (GPRS).
