PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good cleaning performance by preventing slipping through of toner by reducing the possibility of the toner slipping in between a cleaning blade and a photoreceptor drum even when spherical toner is used. SOLUTION: In a cleaning unit provided with the cleaning blade (8) arranged to abut to an image carrier (1) to which a developer image is attached and scraping off developer attached on the image carrier (1), an edge section formed on an end tip of the blade (8) has a first surface (814) and a second surface (815), the first surface (814) and the second surface (815) are formed in tapered shapes so that a prescribed edge angle is made by having both the surfaces come close toward the end tip of the edge section, the dimension of the edge section in the direction vertical to the long direction of the first surface is smaller than the dimension of the edge section in the direction vertical to the long direction of the second surface (815) and the first surface (814) is arranged to abut to the image carrier (1).
