<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MTF measuring method and an MTF measuring instrument for easily and accurately measuring an MTF, without making an imaging element or an inspected lens turn, when measuring the MTF along a normal or tangent, having an arbitrary inclination angle from the optical center of the inspected lens relative to the pixel arranging direction. <P>SOLUTION: This MTF measuring instrument is equipped with an edge inclination angle detection step S200 for detecting the inclination angle of an edge relative to the pixel arranging direction of the imaging element; an edge pattern inclining step S300 for making a prescribed image domain incline, including an edge pattern so that the inclination angle of the edge constitutes a prescribed angle relative to the arranging direction; an interpolation generation step S400 for interpolatingly generating pixel values in the prescribed image domain which is inclined in the inclining step from original pixel values prior to inclining; and an MTF measurement step S500 for measuring the MTF by using the pixel values interpolation-generated in the generation step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
