PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orientation measuring device which attaches the most importance to a measuring resolution of an angle of orientation and a degree of orientation, that is, anisotropic sensitivity. SOLUTION: In the orientation measuring device using a maicrowave rectangular dielectric resonator, formulae of 0.015<(DL/L)<0.120 and 0.075<(DS/S)<0.210 (wherein L is the long side dimension of the rectangular dielectric resonator, S is a short side dimension, DL is the interval between the inner wall of a housing and the side wall of the long side of the resonator, and DS is the interval between the inner wall of the housing and the side wall of the short side of the resonator) are satisfied. Furthermore, a favorable measuring condition can be obtained within a range of 0.03<(DL/L)<0.06 and 0.12<(DS/S)<0.16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
