An apparatus and a method for compensating frequency offset and time offset in a multiple input multiple output wireless communication system are provided to compensate time offset and frequency offset in the situation that a plurality of pilot signals, which is located in the same frequency axis and time axis, does not exist. A reception end confirms whether signal is received or not(401). The reception end comprises the equation of the straight line of the frequency offset and time offset(403). The reception end selects the candidate set of the frequency offset combination and time offset by using the equation of the straight line(405). The reception end determines one candidate with the time offset and frequency offset among selected candidates which best suited(407).
