PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary device having a handwriting input function enabling a user to effectively acquire knowledge by making use of a display screen and a handwriting input section prepared separately from the display screen. SOLUTION: A plurality of words as question, to which question word numbers Mn are added and a plurality of words as answer, to which answer word marks Mk are added, related to the words as answer respectively are arrayed and displayed on the right and left areas of a display section 17 separately. At the same time, the question word numbers Mn are arrayed and displayed on a handwriting input display area 16L on the left side of the handwriting input section 16, and the answer word marks Mk are arrayed and displayed on a handwriting input display area 16R on the right side of the handwriting input section 16. When one of the question word numbers Mn and one of the answer word marks Mk displayed on the handwriting input section 16 corresponding to the words as question and the words as answer desired by the user and displayed on the display section 17 are touch-input with a pen P respectively, a line Ln is drawn and displayed between the word as question and the word as answer on the display section 17 corresponding to the touch-input question word number Mn and the answer word Mk.
