PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel photopolymerization initiator, which allows curing with a small irradiation light energy and a small addition amount and can suppress coloring and odor of a cured polymerizable composition, and to provide a polymerizable composition using the photopolymerization initiator. SOLUTION: The photopolymerization initiator is represented by general formula (1). In the formula, n represents 1-4; m represents 2-4; R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>10</SP>, R<SP>16</SP>, Ar<SP>1</SP>, Ar<SP>2</SP>, Ar<SP>3</SP>represent bonding groups, and R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>-R<SP>9</SP>, R<SP>11</SP>-R<SP>15</SP>represent substituents.
