PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is capable of easily varying fixing pressure by simultaneously operating a pair of right and left fixing pressure varying mechanisms provided at both ends in the axial direction of a pressure roller. SOLUTION: In the fixing device 22, the fixing pressure varying mechanisms are provided at both ends in the axial direction of the pressure roller respectively. Each fixing pressure varying mechanism is configured to include a rotatable pressure lever pressing the pressure roller to a heating roller, a pressure plate engaged with the pressure lever, an opening/closing lever, and a pressure spring interposed between the opening/closing lever and the pressure plate. A fixing pressure varying lever 35 whose both ends in a longitudinal direction have acting portions 35a and 35b acting on the pressure plates of each fixing pressure varying mechanism is provided so that the fixing pressure varying lever 35 is slide-operated to vary the fixing pressure.
