METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPROVED DROPLET MIXING USING MAGNETIC DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for improved droplet mixing using magnetic drive capable of improving speed of mixing with respect to the device of mixing or combining two droplets.

SOLUTION: The device for mixing or combining a first droplet and a second droplet comprises: surfaces 14, 16 having a droplet combining area which includes a first location for receiving the first droplet and a second location for receiving the second droplet; a first magnetic material 32 arranged on the first location; a varying magnetic field generator 36, 38, 40, 41 configured to generate a varying magnetic field for application to the first magnetic material 32; and a droplet combining mechanism configured to move at least one of the first droplet and the second droplet toward the other droplet.
