PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the service life of a terminal bearing by maintaining lubrication of the terminal bearing for supporting a terminal part of a gear shaft that fixes a gear in a gear case for a high load in which gears are meshed with each other to transmit power. SOLUTION: A reduction type axle device 10 meshes a left small gear 51 with a large gear 79 to transmit power, wherein a side face of a bearing cage 57 for supporting an outer ring of a self-aligning bearing 53 is formed with an inflow opening 58A for receiving the lubricating oil jetted to the side from a meshed part of the left small gear 51 and large gear 79, and also formed with an oil passage 58 communicating from the inflow opening 58A to the inside of a cover 59 arranged at the side of the self-aligning bearing 53. The lubricating oil taken in from the inflow opening 58A is thereby supplied positively from the terminal side of the self-aligning bearing 53 to ensure the service life of the self-aligning bearing 53.
