PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, method, and program capable of displaying the direction of a service area capable of communication with a telephone etc. SOLUTION: The navigation system is constituted such that the system determines direction to the nearest service area and indicates it with an arrow mark on a map screen at the exterior of the service area on the basis of the service area information, and at the same time the distance to the service area is calculated and output on the screen of the map. The user being in the outer area of a mobile telephone can move into the communication area sooner, depending on the output of the direction to the communication service area, and thereby the navigation function can be surely and easily utilized.
