PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process release paper using an aqueous silicone as a releasing agent, having stable releasing strength with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: The process release paper comprises base paper and a release layer formed on the base paper, wherein the release layer contains an aqueous silicone and a water-soluble resin and, when the release strength is defined as the stress of releasing in the 180°direction at a rate of 100 mm/min after laminating an epoxy-impregnated prepreg tape on the release paper with 2 kg load and leaving for 7 days, the release strength after 1 month or more from the formation of the release layer is 0.7-3.0 N/25 mm.
