PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set slide stroke of a lid as large as possible, and to facilitate access into a box body by ensuring a wide release surface of an opening part in the box body. SOLUTION: A glove compartment in a vehicle has the form where the opening part 12 of the box body is opened/closed by sliding the lid 30 in a horizontal direction relative to the box body 10. The lid 30 has: a first end part 30A on a preceding side when the opening part 12 of the box body is slid in an opening direction; and a second end part 30B on an opposite side from it. The first end part 30A in the state where the opening part 12 is opened, is supported on a support member 40 connected to the box body 10, and the second end part 30B of the lid is supported on the box body 10 by a predetermined overlapping margin.
