<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun tracking device capable of tracking the sun in such a manner that the installation errors are corrected; and a tracking method of the sun tracking device. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes an azimuth angle measurement means for measuring an azimuth angle α of the sun with lapse of time, an inclination angle measurement means for measuring an inclination angle η of the sun with lapse of time, and a position control means for carrying out position control for directing a power generation module to the direction of the sun. The position control means has an angle obtaining means for obtaining an azimuth angle α1 and an inclination angle η1 which are measurement values from a position calculation formula setting means for setting direction cosine of the sun as a sum of theoretical direction cosine and a function of time and date considering a correction parameter and an inclination angle measurement means, and a correction parameter determination means for determining the correction parameter as a constant by comparing the obtained azimuth angle α1 and the inclination angle η1 with a calculational azimuth angle α0 and an inclination angle η0 calculated from the direction cosine of the sun. As the position control after the correction parameter is determined, tracking the sun is carried out by using a calculation formula of the azimuth angle α0 and a calculation formula of the inclination angle η0 in which the determined correction parameter is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
