PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working machine which can lift the machine frame to avoid the contact of the machine frame with the ground on a backward movement, and can quickly reopen an original work without requiring the labor of an operator, when again forward moved after the backward movement. SOLUTION: Provided is the combine harvester (working machine) having crawler travel portions disposed on both the right and left sides of the machine frame, machine frame-lifting or lowering cylinders disposed on both the right and left sides of the machine frame to lift or lower the machine frame with respect to the ground contact faces of the crawler travel portions, an operation portion which can perform the lifting or lowering operation of a reaping portion and the forward or backward movement operation of the machine frame, and a control portion for controlling a reaping portion-lifting or lowering cylinder in response to the operation of the operation portion, the crawler travel portions, and the machine frame-lifting or lowering cylinders, characterized in that the control portion performs a control for lifting the machine frame and a control for backward moving the machine frame, when both the lifting operation of the reaping portion and the backward operation of the machine frame are detected, and then performs a control for returning the machine frame to a height before lifted to the machine frame (S303 to S305), when a forward movement operation is performed to forward move the machine frame to a prescribed distance or more (S302).
