<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which avoids excessive correction to properly cancel fixed pattern noises, thereby preventing a deterioration in the precision of correction-based reproduction of an original signal, and to provide the noise canceling method. <P>SOLUTION: A defective pixel is determined through defect determination on a dark-time image signal, using a dark-time threshold TH_D. A defective pixel is also determined through defect determination on a bright-time image signal, using a bright-time threshold TH_W. By carrying out defect determination not only on the dark-time image signal but also on the bright-time image signal, insufficient defect correction and excessive defect correction are prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
