The method involves producing translatory movement of punching dies by a drive unit, which diverts original movement in a direction perpendicular to feed direction of the dies by a wedge element into motion in feed direction of the punching dies. A set of work pieces (110) is punched by the punching dies that are displaced with respect to the circumference of the work piece, where an axis of the punching dies exhibits an angle. Holes (111a-111c) are punched in cylindrical surfaces of the work pieces. An independent claim is also included for a device for simultaneous repeated punching of a curved surface of a work piece.
