PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus mounted with a plurality of line sensors capable of ultra-resolution processing by acquiring image data having a phase deviated on a sub-pixel basis by one-time scan. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes the means for: compensating image data read by a sensor means comprising a plurality of line sensors reading image data having a plurality of channels; acquiring image data for a plurality of frames wherein reading positions of a document image by line sensors adjacent to each other within the plurality of line sensors are deviated from each other by less than one pixel in a main scanning direction or/and a sub-scanning direction; and acquiring monochrome image data having high resolution relative to that of the line sensors by carrying out an interpolation processing by using the above data.
