<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the most suitable driving condition to be set to a reflective part and a transmissive part together in a display device for use in both a reflection mode and a transmission mode. <P>SOLUTION: A scan circuit sequentially scans row-like scan lines to simultaneously select pixels for two rows commonly connected to one scan line. A signal circuit writes signals to a pair of pixels PIX1 and PIX2 which belong to one column of a pixel array part and are simultaneously selected, from a pair of signal lines 1 and 2 assigned to this column to perform display. One of the pair of simultaneously selected pixels PIX1 and PIX2 is a reflective pixel for reflecting external light to perform display, and the other is a transparent pixel for transmitting illumination light to perform display. The signal circuit writes signals to the pair of the reflective pixel and the transparent pixel via the pair of signal lines 1 and 2, whereby display in the reflection mode and display in the transmission mode are performed in the same pixel array part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
