A channel division apparatus of serial communication is provided to monitor a specific measurement device on a spot commonly by plural remote monitoring centers by storing and distributing the serial communication data between a measurement device and a collecting device. A first communication port(502) is connected to a collecting device(300), and a second communication port(503) is connected to a measurement device(400). Plural communication ports(504-504n) are connected to a modem(200) of a monitoring center(100), and the first and second communication ports are connected to each other in an RS(Recommended Standard)-232 communication method. A protocol generator(506) recognizes a communication protocol by being connected between the collecting device and the measurement device through a switch(505). A data storage unit(507) records and stores the communication data between the collecting device and the measurement device, and a controller(501) controls the transmission of the communication data.
