METHOD OF A DOWNLINK HARQ OPERATION AT AN EXPIRY OF TIME ALIGNMENT TIMER

A method for operating a downlink HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) at an expiry of a time alignment timer is provided to manage a HARQ soft buffer by transmitting data to an upper layer or removing the data when a base station transmits the data to a terminal with the HARQ method. A control signaling is received from a network. The data is received according to the received control signaling. The received data is decoded. If the received data is successfully decoded, a positive response message is generated. If the received data is not decoded successfully, a negative response message is generated. When the timer is expired or not operated, the generated positive or negative response message is not transmitted to the network.
