<p>Provided is an optical connector which has an improved characteristic of being stored in a cabinet or the like with reduced sizes, and furthermore, eliminates problems of bending loss increase, breakage and the like of optical fiber. An optical connector (1) stores and holds a fusion-spliced section (13) where a short optical fiber (5) previously attached to an optical connector ferrule (7) and an optical fiber core wire (3) are fusion-spliced. In the optical connector, one end of a protection sleeve (15) housing the fusion-spliced connecting section (13) is coupled to the optical connector ferrule (7). As a result, since the length of the protection sleeve (15), which covers the fusion-spliced section (13) to have the fusion-spliced section (13) at the center, can be set by having the end section of the optical connector ferrule (7) as a reference position, the protection sleeve (15) is shortened and the optical connector (1) is reduced in sizes. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009</p> |
