PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material of a tooth powder that makes viscous saliva fluent to prevent formation of a film as a nutrient medium where bacteria propagate and can thereby suppress propagation of bacteria, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A shell is ground into a powder. The powder is baked at 450°C for 2-4 hours. An aqueous solution of acetic acid is added to the baked powder to give a neutral aqueous solution having a pH of 6-8. Water is added to the aqueous solution, which is stirred with a mortar mixer and is refrigerated at 1-6°C for 2 days. The aqueous solution is reheated at 450°C to vaporize water in the aqueous solution to dryness to give a calcium acetate powder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
