<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer usable as a light emitting material for a light emitting layer in a polymeric LED and capable of improving characteristics of the polymeric LED. <P>SOLUTION: The copolymer includes two or more kinds of repeating units selected from the group consisting of an arylene group, a divalent heterocyclic group, and a divalent aromatic amine group, and has a terminal aromatic group, which is selected from the group consisting of a monovalent heterocyclic group, a monovalent group derived from a metal complex coordinated to a heterocycle, a monovalent aromatic amine group, and an aryl group having a formula weight of 90 or larger, at least one end of the molecular chain terminals of the copolymer. The copolymer fluoresces in a solid state and has a weight-average molecular weight of 10<SP>3</SP>to 10<SP>8</SP>in terms of polystyrene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
