PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel control device capable of performing following travel control relative to a preceding vehicle without deteriorating the ride comfort of a driver. SOLUTION: A vehicle-to-vehicle control ECU 1 performs the control of applying a control brake when a vehicle-to-vehicle time to a preceding vehicle is shorter than a target vehicle-to-vehicle time. The vehicle-to-vehicle control ECU 1 calculates the control brake frequency of applying the control brake. When the control brake frequency exceeds a predetermined threshold, the target vehicle-to-vehicle time is adjusted to be longer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
