PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily locate the transmission source of a reception signal by a plurality of reception antennas disposed extremely closely. SOLUTION: A direction detection system includes: a transmitter for generating a mm-wave band frequency; a plurality of receivers having each reception antenna; a phase comparison section for comparing the phase differences among the reception signals of respective receivers; and an information processing section for performing arithmetic processing for detecting the direction based on the comparison result of the phase differences. Each reception antenna is disposed at a distance of not more than λ/2. Each reception signal is downconverted by a single oscillator, the converted intermediate frequency is converted to a digital signal, a phase difference is detected from a plurality of digital signals, and a direction is calculated.
