摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure drive force responsiveness after shifting, while reducing engagement shock during the shifting, even when charging of a battery is limited, when down-shift of a transmission portion is performed. <P>SOLUTION: A driving device for a vehicle comprises: a differential portion capable of performing differential operation; an electric differential portion having a first motor MG1 and a second motor MG2; an engine coupled to an input shaft of the electric differential portion; the transmission portion constituting a part of a power transmission path; and an electric storage device. When the driving device for the vehicle decreases input shaft torque of the transmission portion, when charging to the electric storage device is limited, in order that torque-down quantity of the second motor MG2 does not become limited, the charging limitation of the electric storage device is controlled to be released by power consumption of a third motor MG3 coupled to an engine shaft. Under such a control, torque-down control on the transmission portion input shaft for reducing an engagement shock can be carried out only with the second motor MG2, and the input shaft torque of the transmission portion at the end of shift can be instantaneously raised. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
