PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a plasma display panel superior in display quality, satisfying transmittance, dielectric voltage performance and a dielectric constant without containing lead, and realizing a dielectric layer with discoloration, or the like, restrained. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel, forming a discharge space by arranging, facing a front plate 2 with a display electrode 6, a dielectric layer 8 and a protective layer 9 formed on a front glass substrate 3; and a rear-face plate with an electrode, barrier ribs and a phosphor layer formed on a substrate, and sealing the circumference, the display electrode 6 contains at least silver. The dielectric layer 8 is constituted of a first dielectric layer 81 covering the display electrode 6 and containing bismuth oxide, as well as, calcium oxide and a second dielectric layer 82 covering the first dielectric layer 81 and containing bismuth oxide, as well as, barium oxide.
