PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily use various models of communication equipment by one telephone number of the user. SOLUTION: A communication system includes a controller A and communication equipment B connected to a portable telephone network to exhibit a communication function. The controller A is provided with an authentication information storing part 3 storing authentication information for specifying a telephone number, an information control part 2 and a short-range communicating part 1. The communication equipment B is provided with a short-range communicating part 4 for communicating with the short-range communicating part 1, an authenticating part 5, and a communication control part 6 for using the communication equipment B to exhibit a communication function or stop the communication function. The information control part 2 of the controller A transmits the authentication information of the authentication information storing part 3 to the communication equipment B when receiving an authentication information request signal from the communication equipment B, and the authenticating part 5 of the communication equipment exhibits the communication function through the communication control part 6 when authenticating the received authentication information.
