A trailer (10) including: i) a draw bar (12); ii) a trailer frame (15) supporting a trailer bed (16); iii) an arm (30; 30'), the arm including a first pivot mount (36; 36'); iv) an axle (24), the axle (24) being pivotally connected to the arm (30) at the first pivot mount (36); v) an actuating means (40), the actuating means (40) being actuatable to exert a force on the arm (30; 30') relative to the trailer frame (15); wherein the axle (24) has at least one associated wheel (22) and the wheel (22) has a plane of rotation (23) in which the wheel (22) rotates when traveling in a forward direction, and the actuating means is located substantially in the plane of rotation (23); whereby the trailer bed (16) may be raised or lowered by exerting a force on the arm (30) relative to the trailer frame (15).
