PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device capable of preventing reduction of the braking force even in a compression stroke. SOLUTION: In an engine brake device (100) using an exhaust shutter (4) of a vehicle having a turbocharger (1), a motor generator (13) is interposed between an exhaust turbine (11) interposed in an exhaust system (21) and a compressor (12) interposed in an air intake system (22), and the motor generator (13) has the function of rotating the compressor (12) in the suction stroke of an engine (2).
